However, for the price which the Universal U10 Upright Bike comes in at, you really could not ask for anything more. It has a quality build, it is comfortable to use, and it is very user friendly and versatile too.

What We Like About The Universal U10 Upright Bike

We do like how the Universal U10 Upright Bike has a pretty nice and easy to read LCD display. It can accurately keep track of things such as RPM, distance, time, speed, calories, and more. Moreover, this model also includes integrated heartbeat sensors on the handlebars for accurate cardiovascular tracking abilities. On that same note, the Universal U10 Upright Bike also has 7 different preset workout programs to help challenge you and assist you in achieving your goals.

Another thing which we like about the Universal U10 Upright Bike is that it is quite comfortable to use. It has an ergonomically designed seat that is well-padded to keep your backside in prime condition for the duration of your ride. Also, the seat is adjustable in terms of height to suit users of various sizes. On that same note, the handlebars also have pretty good padding for the comfort of your fingers. And for the comfort of your feet, the pedals are of a pretty good size, plus they have straps and a good anti-slip pattern too.

The other thing that we like about the Universal U10 Upright Bike is that it does actually come with a couple of extras. It features an MP3 port and speakers so you can listen to your favorite music. It also has a media tray to hold your phone, music player, or tablet, plus it has a water bottle holder too. The transport wheels make life easier, plus the stabilizers keep this model from being too wobbly.

What We Don’t Like About The Universal U10 Upright Bike

There are a couple of issues which we have with the Universal U10 Upright Bike, so let’s mention those right now.

One of the issues we have with the Universal U10 Upright Bike is that it only has 8 levels of resistance and 7 workout programs. A bike of this caliber could definitely do with some more of both as currently it is not exactly ideal for people with an advanced fitness level.

Sometimes the drive belt slips off of its track. Fixing this issue on your own is much easier said than done.

Alternatives To The Universal U10 Upright Bike

There are a few good alternatives to the Universal U10 Upright Bike which you could go with, so let’s take a look at them right now.

Schwinn AD2 Airdyne Bike

Unlike the Universal U10, the Schwinn AD2 uses a fan to provide you with unlimited resistance, whereas the U10 has 8 levels of magnetic resistance. Moreover, the U10 has 7 user programs whereas the Schwinn AD2 has none. The really big difference here is that the Universal U10 is you average bike in terms of getting a cardio workout, while the Schwinn AD2 is all about getting an upper body workout along with your lower body. Both models are great choices to go with, but their overall function and purpose are quite different.

Nautilus U614 Upright Bike

The Nautilus U614 is pretty much the standard top rated mid-range upright exercise bike. It has many more resistance levels and many more preset workout programs than the Universal U10. Other than the possible amount of resistance and the programs, both models are actually quite similar. Some other differences include that the Nautilus has USB and data export capabilities, plus it has an adjustable cooling fan too, both things which the Universal U10 does not have.

Final Thoughts On The Universal U10 Upright Bike

The Universal U10 Upright Bike is a fine option to go with. It is not the most comprehensive with the most programs, resistance levels, or special features, but for the price it comes in at, it is more than worth it. This model is more than ideal for beginners and people of low to moderate fitness levels.
