Dimensions & Weight

When it comes to size, the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is fairly large when in use and will require a fair amount of space to use. However, this model can actually fold into a compact package, making storage fairly easy. Also, since the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym uses power rod technology, it remains quite lightweight, while still being able to provide you with lots of resistance. Make no mistake, this model is fairly heavy, but when compared to models that do not use power rods, it is a featherweight.

  • Length: 90 inches
  • Width: 38 inches
  • Height: 83 inches
  • Weight: 195 pounds

Assembly

Assembling the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is not all that difficult. It is pretty big and kind of heavy, so you will want another pair of hands helping you out. 2 people should be able to complete assembly in around 2 hours. All of the tools for assembly are included, but it is recommended that you use your own. Also, the instructions are fairly simple too.

Warranty

Something that you are really going to like about the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is that it comes with a great warranty. The power rods themselves have a lifetime warranty, so if they ever wear out, Bowflex will replace them. Also, there is a 5-year warranty on the frame. All in all, the warranty is pretty decent.

What We Like About The Bowflex Blaze Home Gym

In our opinion, the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is most likely the best mid range home gym option available today. Let’s talk about some of the main points that make this an excellent model to choose for any home.

One of the things that we really like about the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is the awesome power rod technology it comes with. We like the power rods because they can provide you with up to 210 pounds of resistance, plus you can upgrade to 310 or even 410 pounds of resistance if you choose. That is more than enough for any intermediate or big time weight lifter. Moreover, the power rods are very durable and will last for a very long time, not to mention that Bowflex will replace them if they ever do wear down. Perhaps the best part about them is that they can provide you with lots of resistance, yet they are very lightweight.

We also really like the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym because it lets you do well over 60 different body strengthening exercises. There are various stations such as the lat tower, the leg extender and leg curl station, the triple function hand grips and ankle cuffs, and a few other stations all allow for big muscle building. Moreover, the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym actually comes with a seat on a sliding rail, which allows you to do aerobics and rowing exercises. As you can see, you can work out literally every muscle in your body using the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym. Your legs, arms, abs, core, back, chest, shoulders, and everything in between can be trained with this one home gym. What is even more impressive is that it does allow for a certain degree of cardiovascular exercise, something which most home gyms do not allow for.

Another thing that is quite impressive about the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is that it can fold down into a smaller package. Storing a full body home gym would usually require a ton of space, and more or less, you would not be moving it around for storage. Well, the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym can fold down to be much smaller than it would be while in use. While it does not make for the smallest and most portable home gym ever, this is still a feature that many with limited space will be able to appreciate.

The fact that the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym is comfortable to use is yet another thing that you will like about it. The gliding seat is covered with a nice layer of vinyl for durability, comfort, and easy cleaning. All hand grips are made to give you good grip and be fairly soft at the same time, plus the leg extender has great foam rollers to keep your ankles and knees as comfortable as can be.

What We Don’t Like About The Bowflex Blaze Home Gym

There are a couple of things which we do not really like about the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym, so let’s cover those quickly.

While the power rods do make the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym fairly lightweight, and it does fold down for compact storage, using it does require a fair amount of room. Using the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym causes the rods to bend downwards and to the side, so you need a whole lot of space on either side of it.

We do not like how it will cost you a fair amount of money to upgrade the resistance from 210 to 310 or 410 pounds. The machine itself already costs quite a bit, so spending even more money after the initial purchase is not exactly ideal.

Alternatives To The Bowflex Blaze Home Gym

So you can have a bit of a reference point, let’s talk about some of the alternatives to the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym.

Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym

The Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym is also a fairly good option to go with in terms of mid range home gyms. The PR1000 is a few hundred bucks cheaper, which is great for anybody with a limited budget, but there are also some drawbacks to it. For one thing, the Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym has around 30 possible exercise options, while the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym has over 60 possible exercises. Aside from that, both models are fairly similar in terms of their comfort, type of resistance, and overall quality.

Marcy MKM-81010 Home Gym

Another good alternative to go with, the Marcy MKM-81010 Home Gym is a little less expensive than the Bowflex Blaze. It does not have nearly as many exercise options for you as the Bowflex Blaze does, plus it is a lot heavier and harder to move around too, yet the Marcy does take up less space. What many people note is that weight stacks provide for more natural feeling and constant resistance than resistance rods.

Final Thoughts On The Bowflex Blaze Home Gym

When it comes to mid range home gym options, the Bowflex Blaze is definitely one of the best models to consider. It has lots of resistance and allows you to upgrade the resistance if you choose. It has over 60 possible exercises, it is durable, and comfortable too, not to mention that it folds down into a small package for easy storage as well.
