What We Like About The Bowflex Revolution Home Gym

There are a number of fairly impressive features that come with the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym. Let’s talk about these a little more in depth.

One of the things that really stands out about the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is that it uses special SpiralFlex technology to provide you with resistance. This resistance is totally inertia free and can go up to 300 pounds. Making adjustments to the resistance is very easy thanks to the weight plates. Each weight plate is 10 pounds and can be easily removed or added to the arms. There is more than enough weight here to provide most people with a real challenge. Unless you can easily lift 300 pounds, you will be very happy with the challenge provided to you by the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym. Also, the leg press attachment can actually allow for up to 600 pounds of resistance, which is absolutely extraordinary.

Something else that is extremely impressive about the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is the fact that it has freedom arms. This is a special development by Bowflex and they are simply a pair of arms that can be adjusted to 10 different positions to allow for a plethora of exercises.

When these freedom arms are combined with the leg press station, preacher curl attachment, vertical bench press, and leg extension tool, you can do over 100 different exercises. When it comes to high end home gyms, you will be hard-pressed to find any one that can muster more exercises than the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym. This piece of equipment allows you to exercise literally every single last muscle in your body, and that is impressive no doubt.

We do also like how the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is built for comfort. It has an adjustable seat that can be turned into an incline or flat bench. The seat itself has great vinyl padding for long lasting durability, plus it makes it quite easy to clean as well. There is also the fact that the seat on the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym has some really nice padding as well. Everything that needs good padding on the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym definitely has it.

What We Don’t Like About The Bowflex Revolution Home Gym

There are a few issues that we have with the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym. What are they?

Many people have noted that the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is very loud. Now, if you are playing loud music, this might not be an issue. However, if you are noise sensitive, you may not want to get the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym.

While the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is fairly thin and streamlined, you will need a really long space to house this high end home gym.

Alternatives To The Bowflex Revolution Home Gym

So you have a bit of a comparison point, let’s talk about some other high end home gym alternatives that you can consider buying.

Marcy Diamond Elite Smith Cage

The Marcy Diamond Elite Smith Cage is definitely a good alternative to consider. With the weight plates, it is going to be a fair bit heavier than the Bowflex Revolution, plus it is quite bulky too. However, the Marcy Diamond Elite Smith Cage is less than half as expensive as the Bowflex Revolution. There is also the fact that the Marcy Diamond Smith Cage can provide you with way more weight resistance, except maybe for the 600-pound leg press attachment of the Bowflex Revolution.

Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym

Both of these Bowflex Home Gyms are quite impressive, but the Bowflex Revolution is just a little better. Yes, the Bowflex Revolution will cost you substantially more than the Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym, but it also has more to it. The Bowflex Revolution Home Gym has over 30 more possible exercises, 100 pounds more resistance, and it does a better job at giving you a full body workout. The Bowflex Revolution is a little bigger and heavier, but it has way more functionality.

Final Thoughts On The Bowflex Revolution Home Gym

While the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is definitely one of the more expensive high end home gym models out there, it is also a really good one. With lots of possible resistance, 100 different exercise choices, and a really solid build, you can’t go wrong with the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym.
