What We Like About The Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556

There are a few things that we really like about the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556, so let’s talk about those in some more detail right now.

One of the things that we really like about the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 is the durability of it, plus the look too. The fact that it is made with a high-grade silver steel frame is pretty cool because it does help make the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 last for a long time to come. It has a 300-pound weight limit which is more than enough for most people. Moreover, the fact that it features solid real wood on the front and back helps to make it even more durable, plus it makes the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 look really nice too. On that same note, the non-skid supports help to make the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 much more stable than it would otherwise be.

Another thing that we really like about the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 is that it is elevated 15 inches off the ground. Being elevated off of the ground gives any Pilates reformer much more versatility because it allows for many more exercises than one that is on the ground. In terms of versatility, the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 allows you to perform well over 100 different Pilates related strength, cardio, balance, and flexibility exercises. This is also thanks to the included leg/foot bar as well as the free form cardio rebounder. If you need a full body and well-rounded workout, this particular reformer will definitely provide it for you.

Yet another great aspect about the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 is that it is extremely comfortable and simple to use. The glide board features aluminum rails with high-quality rollers for a very smooth motion. Moreover, the glide board is extra wide to accommodate larger people, plus it has great padding too. On that same note, the glide board is on aluminum rails that are around 5 inches longer than on most other Pilates reformers, thus making it ideal for larger and taller people. Related is the fact that the hand and foot straps are both adjustable and well padded. Moreover, the headrest has lots of padding and is even adjustable to 3 different positions. The bottom line is that everything that needs to have good padding on the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 has it.

We do like how the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 has 4 different bungee cords so you can adjust the resistance to suit your needs. This means that people of beginner and intermediate levels can get a good challenge from the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556. On that same note, the cords are adjustable for length in order to suit your size and arm length.

What We Don’t Like About The Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556

There are a couple of minor issues that we can see with the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556, so let’s just mention those real quick.

Since the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 is so big and heavy, assembly is not the easiest, finding a room to put it in can be a challenge, and moving the assembled unit around is definitely a 2 person job.

While we do like the 4 levels of bungee cord resistance you get with the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556, we don’t like how there aren’t more resistance levels. In reality, a great Pilates reformer should have the ability to change the incline so that you can use your own bodyweight as added resistance.

Alternatives To The Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556

So you have a bit of a reference point, let’s take a look at some of the alternatives to the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556.

Pilates Power Gym Pro Mini Reformer

This model is pretty much the exact opposite of the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556. It is much smaller and more compact, thus making storage and transportation much easier, plus it already comes fully assembled too. On the other hand, the limited size of it may pose an obstacle to taller people. What we do really like about the Pilates Power Gym Mini Reformer is that it allows you to change the incline, plus it also uses corded resistance for a total of 48 resistance levels. Other than that, both models are pretty similar in terms of their other capabilities and their weight limit.

Stamina AeroPilates 700 Premier Reformer

In all fairness, except for the price and the design, both of these models, the XP 556 and the 700, are fairly similar. They both have the same features more or less. They both have great padding, a lot of comfort, they both have a 300-pound weight limit, they both have an adjustable headrest and cord length, they both come with a leg bar and cardio reformer, and they are both about the same size too. One of the key differences is that the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 is raised 15 inches off the ground, whereas the 700 Premier is only 10 inches off the ground. Of course, the other big difference is that the Stamina AeroPilates 700 Premier Reformer does not include any wood in its construction.

When it comes down to it, you definitely get a whole lot of value with the Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556.
